LumiSlim Or I-Lipo? The Facts

Sitting immobile and lazy, the fat stored in the adipose tissue in our bodies take the once youthful shapeliness of our bodies and give it odd bulges, folds, and undesirable extensions of once flat areas. We diet and exercise and try our best to follow all the expert advice that we can, but sometimes problem areas of excess body-fat will stubbornly remain. For the consumer wanting laser liposuction to shed these imperfections quickly and painlessly, there is good news. For the entrepreneur, there is lucrative gain while helping others.

Cold Laser Liposuction Systems are what these novel devices are called. They are taking the world by storm because they offer effective, pain-free, rapid treatments that shed inches in single sessions that take no longer than a lunch break. It sounds like a straight-up snake oil lie, but these machines do, in fact, work.

The laser light from the lipo machine is fractionated and focused to induce a process called lipolysis within the adipose, or fat, cells of the tissue being treated. Lipolysis simply means “breaking down fat.” Any excess fats freed by the procedure are absorbed by the body naturally and eliminated with no harm to the organs or tissues whatsoever.

Let us take a look at two of these machines and educate our curiosity:

First, there is the LumiSlim Pro Laser Lipo system. This takes liposuction to a whole new level by removing the brutal and injurious “suction” portion of the process. Levels of laser energy that are low enough to keep surrounding tissues intact actually stimulate fat cells to lose their integrity and shape. The result is the release of the stored fats, or triglycerides as they are known. These triglycerides are then metabolized by the body for energy and they are no longer deposited under the skin. The cumulative result of this brief procedure is a total loss of sub-cutaneous body-fat. Several sessions may be needed to obtain optimal results.

The LumiSlim retails for 3,999. The price is so low because, due to quality and quantity being sold, the LumiSlim Pro Laser Lipo system is simply positioned at a reasonable price. It is not “cheap” in any derogatory sense.

The next system that we will look at is the I-lipo Laser Lipo system. The body is continuously storing excess consumed calories as fat in our adipose tissue. This is the tissue designed to store fat beneath the skin and around the organs of the body. Exercise is one way to release stored fat from these cells and allow our bodies to use them for energy. An exercise routine should be maintained. I-lipo system utilizes cold laser technology to induce the adipose tissue to release stored fats in a fashion similar to that of exercise.

The general claim with I-lipo is that the typical client can reasonably expect to achieve a reduction in physical diameter that will reduce the shape of the body by one or two dress sizes.

I-lipo retails at 20,000. Let me remind you that all of these machines do the same thing. No matter what system you choose, it will serve the purpose for which you invested in it.

Consider this, however; invest the least overhead so that you can pay off the principle more rapidly. The treatment charges that you impose on the new Lipo device will more rapidly compensate for the original cost if that original cost is lower. The LumiSlim system is high medical grade equipment and offers flexible payment plans and training to get you started right away. Start earning revenue now and see the changes in your client’s satisfaction and the positive growth of your financial profits.

How To Determine If You Are Experiencing Perimenopause Or Menopause?

Life begins at 40 as the saying goes. But for some women as early as 30 years old their journey towards the menopausal episode starts. Perimenopause as it is called would never be easy for most women facing this. Here are the common signs of perimenopause. Check it out if you are experiencing some of them.

*Vaginal dryness

*Sexual discomfort

*Memory problems

*Sleep problems

*Short menstrual cycle

*Unpredictable period ( some may skip period, some may experience bleeding that last for two weeks, other may undergo period twice in a month)

*Spotting in between menstrual cycle

*Spotting after intercourse

*Self-pity that leads to depression

*Hot Flashes

*Frequent urination (especially at night)

*Breast tenderness and discomfort

PMS or premenstrual syndrome are most similar to perimenopause symptoms though PMS must be based on the menstrual cycle itself. On the other hand, perimenopause is associated with the unpredictable period oftentimes shorter than the regular 28-day menstrual cycle. Before the period, one may experience breast tenderness and when bleeding occurs, hot flashes and more irritating symptoms arise.

This and more symptoms will be experienced by women in their perimenopausal stage. Good for those who will not undergo the turmoil of perimenopausal. Yes, there are women who rarely experienced the symptoms of perimenopause. I talked to Juliet and Minda who just turned 60. Both of them never experienced the symptoms of perimenopause. Their period just ceased after turning 50 years old. But they experience some annoying changes physically when menopause occurs.

Menopause is a natural phase that women will experience. The recurrence of menstruation of 3 to 6 months and will eventually stop for one whole year is a sign of menopause. By this time a woman could no longer be able to get pregnant as her period ceases. Like Juliet and Minda who do not experience much of the perimenopause symptoms but experiencing the agony of menopause due to hormonal imbalance.

Oftentimes hormone replacement therapy or HRT will be considered to lessen the severe hormonal imbalance. General practitioner can offer few suggestions to treat the abnormalities such as taking hormonal pills. There are also gels, implants and skin patches that could reverse estrogen loss.

The depletion of estrogen will lead also to vaginal dryness during menopause and perimenopause. You may consider applying vaginal moisturizer or lubricants. There is also vaginal estrogen cream which is more effective to lessen the dryness. But if your GP will suggest CBT or cognitive behavioural therapy try considering the idea especially if you undergo mood swings, anxiety or depression.

Staying healthy is the best way to avoid the dilemma of perimenopause and menopause. There are lots of healthy food around start picking up organic it is 100% safe. You can also include natural food supplements in your diet like the Buah Merah Mix that contained six super natural fruits and vegetables like moringa, wheat grass, barley, mangosteen, guyabano and buah merah. Buah Merah Mix is a fully loaded ready to drink juice that will energize your body while detoxifying. It is a good source of vitamins and minerals to lessen the agony of hormonal imbalance during perimenopause and menopause.

1. Headaches

It has been clinically proven that Botox injections can reduce the intensity of migraines in both men & women. The treatment incorporates up to 40 injections, which are applied around face and neck. A few patients may not get help or relief instantly and may require extra sessions to get complete relief from the pain.

2. Excessive Sweating

Botox is a chemical that obstructs the nerves that work for the sweat organs. Due to this, the sweat organs fail to produce excess sweat. Best Anti-Aging Night Cream for Sensitive Skin

Everyone undergoes the process of aging. It is natural and we have no reason to feel ashamed that we are growing old. However, it wouldn’t hurt if we can still look as beautiful as we once were despite our age, wouldn’t it?

Before we look at ways to control age, let us first see how the process of aging works.

Contrary to what we know, aging does not only happen when we reach our senior years. In fact, we age every day. The only difference is that, while we are young the systems still maintain the regular pacing or speed in terms of functions. However, as we grow older, these functions tend to slow down. Unlike before, we experience certain signs that we are aging. For example, we feel that we may not be as strong and that our bones cannot support the weight they could before. Sometimes, the things we lift may even cause breakage in our bones and might cause muscles to tear. We are also not as immune to sickness as we were during our younger times. Our body cannot attack infections and viruses as fast as it used to. In the skin, we often experience sagginess, wrinkles and fine lines. This is because of lessened melanin production which is in-charge of making the skin young and healthy and also a reduced production level of elastin, the substance that keeps our skin firm and retains its ability to go back to its natural form despite being stretched. It is hard to stop or even slow down aging internally. That is why most of us, at least try to retain our youthfulness from the outside.

There are ways on how we manage to keep our faces and bodies looking young.

Dermatological or medical procedure is one option people choose nowadays. The most common form would be Botox wherein chemicals are injected to the face or certain body parts to bring back its elasticity. This procedure also removes wrinkles and makes fine lines less visible. This option is not for those who prefer painless means or those who have minimal budget. On the plus side, given the right dose and done in the right manner, Botox shows fast and very evident results.

To those who have financial constraints, a good way to keep looking beautiful is to use topical agents. With this option, the most common form would be night creams. There are plenty of this already out in the market. There are different brands containing different ingredients that all promise to bring out the best results. Oftentimes, consumers would have to ponder on what really is the best anti-aging night cream for sensitive skin. Revitol Anti-Aging Night Cream is seen to be the best anti-aging night cream in the market today because it contains the advanced ingredients that removes fine lines, keeps skin elastic and still manages to moisturize the skin. It is also great for sensitive skin.

There are more ways on how we manage our skin’s youth today. Above are only the two ways. Aging really is natural. But we must also keep in mind that it is not impossible to look like it’s still our prime. Whether we achieve it through operations or by using the best anti-aging night cream, we can still look as though the years make us bloom, not wither.

Is it Normal to Have a Fever After Hernia Surgery?

If you have undergone hernia surgery within the past few days or weeks, you are no doubt hoping for a quick and successful recovery. That is why it can be worrisome if you find that you have a fever shortly after having had hernia surgery.

Since we were children, we have often been taught that a fever can quickly go from being something to not worry about to a “call the doctor”-type of emergency. Indeed, it is important to keep tabs on a fever, especially after surgery.

Anatomy of a Hernia

A hernia is a protrusion of the gut (or intestine) from inside the body through the abdominal wall. The abdominal wall is made almost entirely of muscle. For some people, the abdominal wall can develop a weakness in one or more locations over time. If the weakness becomes pronounced enough, it can allow the intestine to bulge through the wall, becoming a hernia.

A hernia is usually visible to the naked eye as a bulge on the outside of the body. In fact, it is this visible quality of hernias that make them easy to diagnose.

How Hernia Surgery Works

Hernia surgery involves the patching of the weakness in the abdominal wall. The surgery starts with the doctor opening a small incision in the skin. The doctor then pushes the protruding parts (the gut) back into the body cavity. Finally, a mesh patch is applied over the opening to strengthen it and to prevent any recurrence of the hernia.

Chances for Infection

The quality and cleanliness of most medical facilities in developed countries today means that your hernia surgery was probably carried out in a sterile environment by a competent doctor. However, anytime you undergo surgery, you are exposing yourself to the potential for infection. Any open wound is necessarily exposed to bacteria and viruses which exist outside the body in the environment.

If you have had hernia surgery and are wondering, “Is it normal to have a fever after hernia surgery?”, it is important that you know what to look for and when you should be concerned.

When a Fever is Normal?

After hernia surgery, you will likely not be released from the hospital if you have a fever. But, it is not uncommon for a light fever to develop in the days or even a week or so after hernia surgery. As long as your fever comes on and then goes away within a couple of days without getting too high, you are fine.

When to Call Your Doctor

However, if your fever reaches over 101 degrees for more than a few hours, you should call your doctor. In that case, it is quite possible that you have an infection.

Other reasons to visit your doctor after hernia surgery include: unexplained leg pain (due to the possibility of blood clots), pus and drainage from your incision, very dark bowel movements (which may indicate blood in the stool), difficulty breathing and inability to eat.

What to Expect if You Have to Visit Your Doctor

If you do decide to visit the doctor due to a fever of 101 or higher, it is important not to let this worry you. Your doctor will likely inspect your wound to make sure it looks like it is healing properly. He or she will probably subscribe some antibiotics to treat a possible infection. However, if your fever is extremely high, you may be asked to check back into the hospital for a day or so in order for you to be properly observed until it goes away.

Can You Eliminate Large Ovarian Cysts Without Surgery Or Hormone Treatments?

The only way you can really tell the size of an ovarian cyst is by going into your doctor for an ultrasound. If you have been diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst your doctor may want to monitor the cyst to see if it gets larger. At this point it is a good time to start thinking about your treatment options.

Some of the symptoms related to ovarian cysts are irregular periods, pelvic pain, and pelvic pain during intercourse, pelvic pain before or after your period, nausea, feeling of pressure on your bladder or rectum, fullness or heaviness in your abdomen, or breast tenderness. If you are exhibiting one or more of these symptoms you should consult your physician.

Large cysts are more likely to be painful or rupture. Some large cysts can become twisted, a condition called torsion, and cause severe pain. In some cases a large cysts can twist around the ovary and cut off the blood supply and kill the ovary. There are a few common types of ovarian cysts that have the potential to grow very large that you should be aware of.

1. Follicular cyst can grow to 6 cm (2.3 in) in diameter, and usually are not painful.

2. Dermoid cyst can grow up to 15 cm (5.9 in) in diameter, and cause severe pain

3. Endometrioid cysts can grow up to 20 cm (8 in) in diameter, and are usually painful during menstruation.

Although large ovarian cysts can be painful, the truth of the matter is they will not last forever. You will find that most of the time these growths will go away without any form of treatment. Ovarian cysts are preventable that is why it is important to learn how to stop these growths from developing.

Medical intervention is not always necessary so don’t feel this is your only option. Surgery can only remove the cysts that are currently on your ovaries, and you run the risk of infection and other complications. The hormonal treatments that are sometimes prescribed to women, which usually are birth control pills, can have just as damaging side effects as the cysts themselves. In all likelihood the cysts will return unless you make a lifestyle change.

Unless your physician says your condition is life threatening and you need surgery immediately you should give natural treatments serious consideration. Natural treatments appear to have no side effects and have been successful in shrinking and eventually dissolving the cysts completely. Make sure you consider all your options when choosing a method to rid yourself of large ovarian cysts.

15 Steps to Grow Thin

Surely, spring is a wonderful season. Everything awakes from winter sleepiness, long-awaited sun finally appears and we want singing, dancing, falling in love and flying. Only those, whose excess kilograms prevent them from flying, can argue this. Some of us even cannot take off, not to mention flying.

A well-known picture: opening a window to first spring sun beams, you rush to try on that striking dress, which was an occasion for many dates last summer. After 5-minute glance in the mirror (as a rule, surprised one), you close (and curtain off windows), put dress back in a wardrobe, and it starts seeming to you that it would be better if spring does not come at all. What should you do now?! Take a deep breathe, calm down and reckon although to 15.

1. Keep a food diary

Write down everything you eat during a week. You may be absolutely unaware how many useless calories you consume, until you start paying careful attention to them. In general, a diary is the best way to follow successful passing of planned program. So keep on writing, until you feel confidently on your new life road.

2. Analyze

Think, which of your food habits impede you, and change them. Moreover, think what they may be caused by. Very often people hide their real problems behind food. What makes you reach for the second portion of this divine cheese-cake? Boring work, captious boss, apartment that failed to wait till its lucky hour of repair, boyfriend, showing little attention that is so necessary in spring for you? Find other work, repaint walls of drawing-room in orange, change boyfriend! Finally, spring is time for changing not only in centimeters!

3. Get rid of self-pity

Beforehand, so that this damned pity could not interfere you further. And it is even better to set it on other channel. Necessary one. The thing that makes you fat, – is not a bar of chocolate, which you decided to spoil yourself with, when He did not call you again. And even not half of cake, which you and your friend celebrated the fact that He called at last with. These are your food habits. You need to change them not only to become slender and energetic, but also keep this state. Change for ever.

You sorrow for yourself while refusing from chocolate or vanilla ice-cream? Think! Does not such a good girl like you deserve surrounding men’s wolf whistles? Think better. Motivation is very important. Here you need to determine what is important right now for you. Any, even the most unusual variants, will suit (come to your junior sister’s school party unnoticed and have great fun there; put on that breath-taking short skirt, which you have been dreaming of for the second season already; drive him crazy with a stunning strip-tease). How many unique life opportunities go by!

4. Keep informed

“Keeping informed – means being on top of issues”, – one of popular slogans says. Grow thin sensibly! Quit relying on numerous experts’ opinions, telling you what, when and with what to eat.

Learn the way your organism works, what it needs, and learn providing it with all necessary things. It will repay your kindness with a flat belly, couple of slender legs and a sea of energy. Of course, you need time to learn orienting in the sea of calories, centimeters, physical trainings and hypoglycemic indexes. And you want to be slender right now already. So, add to your armoury basic knowledge:

– Everything you eat can be conditionally divided into proteins, fats and carbohydrates (according to prevalence of first, second or third in them, all three components in pure form are contained only in artificially created products). To imagine which your daily ration should be, draw a triangle on a sheet of paper and call its angles like 3 elements of nutrition. Write down 60-65% for carbohydrates, 30-35% for proteins and 10-15% for fats. Now you have only to read labels on products carefully.

– We all know something about calories. These are some obscure terms, with help of which we value products and divide them into good and bad. In fact, a calorie (to be more exact, kilocalorie) – is an energy, which you need to spend to heat 1 kg (liter) of water on 1°C.

To get rid of 1 kg of fat, you need to burn about 7000 kilocalorie, correspondingly, from 10 kg (or how many you wish) – about 70000, what is equal to energy, spent on walking of 1700 km. Not counting snacks and rest while trip.

So forget about ideas of strict restriction of your ration’s calorie content – in fact, what you need is to stick to a norm of 1500-1800 kilocalories a day to train off and about 2000 kilocalories to keep it.

– Sugar, products of fine flour (favorite cakes, pies and patties), of course, are very tasty. But, regardless of the fact that they are quite different, processes they cause set going similar mechanisms in your organism. Their essence is in change of acid-base medium of bowels, and as a result you will want to eat these products more and more often. As a result, you will receive excess calories on your diet’s counter and horror of excess kilograms on all – alas! – conceivable places.

Restrict consumption of these products and already in two weeks you will see noticeable (others will also see them!) results.

– Stomach is an organ of your body, which you set up merciless experiments on, filling it with food, not always so wholesome. In fact, a poor one needs not so much – a piece of wholesome food each 4 hours. This means you should eat at least 3 (and ideally 5-6) times a day. Longer periods organism will treat like hunger and save everything you ate after such break in store.

Of course, you do want to put in this mini right this weekend. And what can be better than treating yourself with some ultra-fashionable thing from new spring collection of your favorite designer! Images that occur to you are so tempting, that you are ready to go without food for weeks, to reach your goal as soon as possible. Moreover, you always can excuse shadows under your eyes and weakness with spring beriberi.

– Be careful! Loss of more than 0,5-1 kg a week will definitely take place at the expense of soft tissue. Its weight will be restored right after you finish strict diet (owing to fat, as it is much easier for your organism to gain it, than build up muscles); and, secondly, it is rather sad to lose it! As it helps you burning calories and makes your body beautiful and neat.

So do not set yourself unrealizable goals as an object. A result, which you go to slowly, but confidently, will be most stable.

5. Form a plan of actions

Take a sheet of paper. Look at it. It is absolutely white, is not it? Imagine that this sheet of paper personifies your food habits. You will write down on it everything you think to be necessary. And will erase things that disturbed you before. No unnecessary things.

Divide it at least in 3 columns (if you are brave enough, you can divide it in 5-6, if you are not frightened at it – for some reason such quantity of meals seems to be tremendously big for those who want to train off). Write down approximate time (or time interval) of meals in these columns. Thinking over all possible situations (restaurant temptation with your loved one, lunch at your mother’s place, Friday kickbacks with your friends), compose variants of what and in which quantity you can allow eating to yourself.

6. Count

Check how many calories food you eat contains. In the end of each day look in your diary and sum up figures. If you manage to keep within necessary sum, compliment yourself and go to paragraph 7. If no, think about a reason of failure and try to refrain from repetition of this situation in future. For example, if a hungry day in your office preceded too abundant supper at home, which you cannot forgive yourself, take something on work with you tomorrow. You really can control your nutrition!

7. Play

Parting with bad habits is a difficult matter. So present gifts for yourself! For each day you lived the right way, each reached goal, each correct thought, definitely! Invent gifts beforehand, and do not give up until you get what you want.

8. Move

Although somehow! Success of your diet, regardless of how ideally it may be considered, depends 30% on your activity during a day. As Henry Ford said, “you can choose a car of any color under the condition it is black”. Find sport to your liking, walk, make more sex, whatever, but m-o-v-e!

9. Take measurements

Once a week, since morning, weigh yourself and measure sizes of breast, waist and hips. Do not hung up exceptionally on weight indices – you may look absolutely different, having the same weight. And you also can have smaller size, than earlier, while bigger weight. This is explained by the fact that muscle bulk weighs more, than fat, and reserves less space.

10. Follow speed

Your organism needs at least 20 minutes to realize a happy fact of eating. So take your time. Eat more slowly, and if you cannot, then switch to, say, kisses with your boyfriend. Finally, he should help you too!

11. Size is important

Follow your portions. Less is more. As for size of plates: even if you reduce volume of what your usual dinners, breakfasts and suppers consist of, at least on one third, without changing anything else, all the same you will start growing thin.

12. Drink

Yes, indeed. Those boring 8 glasses of water a day. Water is your #1 helper in a difficult matter of getting rid of excess centimeters. It will provide a feeling of satiety between meals, inspire you and clear organism from fat cells’ decay products (you have made up your mind on this, eh?). And they have not begun issue water in pills yet.

By the way, you can also start singing, not only drinking. With a view to cheer yourself up. Moreover, it is very good for strengthening of abdominal muscles.

13. Do not try to do everything at once.

This will only bring you to unnecessary disappointments. Your organism needs time to learn living a new way. Look closely at your plan and mark the most important, to your opinion, changes – those, which you will start with. When things you wrote down on a paper become a habit for you, put a new goal for yourself. Without forgetting about paragraph 7, naturally.

Moreover, spoil yourself with your favorite unhealthy food in tiny amounts. This way you will not get a feeling that you deprive yourself of best and most pleasant in this life. You know, food is also one of the greatest life pleasures. Have not you forgotten about it yet?

14. Imagine

Every day think of that wonderful summer (year, life) waiting for you in future. Remember in details how you have been living before composing your program, and imagine a new life – with a new yourself. Thins about all details carefully: what you eat for breakfast, what you wear, how other people react on you. Do this exercise every day, and this will significantly increase your chances for success.

15. Love!

Yourself, every cell and curve of your body. Look at yourself in the mirror more often (and without fear!). Think, what your body does for you every day, and thank it for this. Who else loves you so much?

If being absolutely frank, there is one more step. Probably, the most important. Believe in yourself! You will surely manage to do everything! Forget about past failures to grow thin. You just did not know a lot and therefore made mistakes. Don’t blame yourself. Knowledge on correct nutrition is not inborn. Remember all your achievements in life – you know, way to them was not easy, eh? Everything is possible. And for a human that has a goal, there are no obstacles. And soon you’ll nevertheless put on that breath-taking skirt. In fact, not for long. Soon you will have to put it off. You haven’t changed your mind as for strip-tease, eh?

Good Vices That Benefit Our Health

VICE #1: Sleeping in.

It’s free, natural and has no drawbacks. More than giving you energy, getting enough quality sleep boosts your immune system, your memory and might even help you manage your weight. Lack of sleep has been linked to high blood pressure, glucose intolerance and belly fat, all known to be risk factors for heart disease. You should aim for the research supported 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. If you always seem to drag yourself out of bed, no matter how much sleep you get the night before, talk to your doctor. A good night’s sleep is not a luxury… it’s necessary to your health and well-being.

VICE #2: Mental health days.

Who doesn’t enjoy sneaking off for a well deserved time out? Turns out taking time off has been shown by research to relieve stress, lowering your blood pressure and thus your risk for heart disease. It also aids creative thinking, and may help with symptoms of depression. The good news is that the length of the vacation doesn’t matter one bit in terms of how happy it will make you. The best part is the anticipation.

VICE #3: Enjoying intimate pleasures.

A vice in some eyes to be sure… sex is, after all, the most pleasurable form of activity there is. It releases feel-good endorphins and oxytocin, the hormone that helps promote attachment, which very much benefits mental health. One study found that those who were sexually active one or two times a week had raised levels of the antibody immunoglobulin A that is thought to protect from colds and infections. As with many vices, sexual activity brings the chance for unintended consequences like infections and pregnancy, which is why it does not top the list.

VICE #4: A daily serving of chocolate.

A worthy, well loved vice. A square or two of the dark kind, without as much sugar and fat as milk chocolate, will do wonders. Dark chocolate and cocoa (75% cocoa content) might help lower blood pressure, cut the risk of stroke and bring other cardiovascular benefits according to more than one study. Dark chocolate has flavonoids that are believed to improve the flexibility of blood vessels, making them more resistant to plaque buildup.

Another study published last year found that eating 1.4 ounces of dark chocolate a day for 14 days reduced the stress hormones in highly anxious people.

VICE #5: Girls/Boys nights out.

Finally, research to back up a vice we all enjoy. A number of recent studies have shown how big an impact friends and family have on our behavior. From what we eat and drink, to how much we weigh (for better or worse). Strong social ties have also been found to bring benefits like fewer colds, better brain health and a longer life. Friendships are so good for you, as long as you’re in a well-balanced relationship with give and take being equal. Avoid those who are toxic to you.

VICE #6: Full fat dressing/sauces.

When it comes to vices, full fat anything is sure to be on the list. The thing is, there’s really no need for you to deprive yourself of the full fat variety of your favorite dressing or sauce. These “loaded” versions not only taste better, but they remind us that fats serve a real health purpose, as long as you get the right kinds in the right amount. Try for 10% (no more than 30%) of your daily fat intake to come from monounsaturated fats (vegetable oils, avocados, many nuts and seeds) that cut your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Omega-3 fatty acids (salmon and tuna, flaxseed and walnuts) also reduce the risk of heart disease and might even help ease symptoms of depression, rheumatoid arthritis and other problems. A meal that has a little fat leaves you feeling more satisfied, so you end up actually eating less.

VICE #7: Your morning coffee.

One of the most well known of the vices, coffee continues to be popular. If you’re like many who need that cup of coffee to get going in the morning, don’t feel guilty. There’s a lot of research that suggests coffee doesn’t just pick you up, it also fights heart disease and some cancers. It might also help you perform harder, longer workouts. Moderate coffee drinking in midlife has been linked to lower risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s. What’s more, every added cup of coffee you drink a day drops your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 7%.

VICE #8: Getting a massage.

They may be an expensive indulgence, but massages (by a pro or a loved one) are a vice that is well worth the guilt. Being touched regularly leaves you healthier. Women in a 2008 study noted less pain, depression, anxiety and anger when they got weekly massages by their partners. Their partners reported better mental health too.

VICE #9: Basking in the sun.

Though we all know the dangers of too much sun, this vice, in moderation, has its good side. Those sun filled days act as a natural anti-depressant, really working to improve moods. It triggers our bodies to cut production of the sleep stimulating hormone melatonin so we feel alert, energized and ready to take on the day. Letting the skin soak up the sun (without sunscreen) also triggers the natural synthesis of vitamin D, believed to reduce risks for cancer, heart disease, brittle bones and other conditions.

VICE #10: Wine with dinner.

Last but not least, the ‘good’ vice that most hinges on moderation. Though researchers don’t know precisely why it works, wine does have some impressive heart healthy properties. The antioxidants may keep blood vessels flexible, or alcohol could help boost HDL (the good) cholesterol. All you need is one 5 ounce glass a day to enjoy the benefit, more than this can up your blood pressure and cause you to pack on pounds. Women who drink heavily also boost their risk of breast cancer.

Colonoscopy Procedure – Precautions to Take After and Before Procedure

Colonoscopy is the process of examining the rectum and interior part of the colon (lower part of large intestine) for the sake of estimating the rectal bleeding, bowel disorders and tumors which are spotted on x-ray sheets. It is also used to check for the rectal and colon cancer in the people above 50 years of age.

In the colonoscopy procedure, a colonoscope is used by the physician to view the inner layer of colon. A colonoscope is a long and flexible instrument of ½ inches of diameter which is introduced in the body through rectum and then it advances to the large intestine.

A little quantity of tissues is removed from the body if it is required for the biopsy and polyps are removed after they are identified. A number of times colonoscopy procedure allows correct analysis and cure and there is no need of any major operation or surgery.

Before the Colonoscopy Procedure

Make the physician aware of the conditions if you are a lung or heart patient, or are allergic from certain kind of medications or if you are pregnant. Also tell him if you are on antibiotics before any surgical procedure or if you are having an artificially attached heart valve.

Take care of the following things if you are going through any kind of medication:

* A diabetic patient should regulate the insulin dose on the test day with the help of his physician. Remember to bring your medicines with you so that you can continue with it after the procedure.

* Get some alternate for blood-thinning prescribed from your physician if you are going through the medication of thinning the blood.

* Make sure that you have not taken aspirin within a week or other anti-inflammatory medicine before the procedure.

* The bulk-forming or iron containing products can make it difficult to view the colon. So, don’t take any of such things for a week before the procedure.

* On the days tests are conducted, take the medicines for thyroid or heart diseases and blood pressure with water only.

During the Colonoscopy Procedure

The patient needs to wear the gown provided by the hospital and a tranquilizer and pain-relief pill is given to him. Then the patient is asked to lie on his left with knees drawn upwards. After that a colonoscope is introduced in the body, from rectum to large intestine. This procedure takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour. But there is nothing to be afraid of and the whole process is quite improvised with professional assistance.

After the Colonoscopy Procedure

The patient is kept under observation for about 30 minutes after the colonoscopy procedure. The impression of pain or gas might be felt but not for a long time. The patient is advised to continue with the normal meals and avoid the medication for blood-thinning for at least two weeks after the procedure. It is also advised to stop the use of aspirin to reduce the danger of bleeding in case polyps are removed from the body. There may be rectal bleeding if biopsy is done. But there is no need to worry as it is quite normal.

Antioxidants – The Pros and Cons of Antioxidants

I’m sure at some point in time over the last few years you have heard of antioxidants. Whether on television or through media, it is evident that they play a big role in keeping our bodies younger and healthier. Most people (myself included) agree that they are an amazing resource at helping our bodies and can give numerous benefits. It is important though, to also take a look at some of the overlooked negative aspects.

Pros of Antioxidants:

  • Can help boost immune system
  • Protect us from numerous diseases by eliminating free radicals in our body
  • Are easy to obtain through certain foods such as fruits or vegetables
  • Can be obtained through supplements if not eating enough fruits or vegetables
  • Can possibly protect us from mental diseases and reduce symptoms related to aging

Cons of Antioxidants:

  • Too many can actually damage your body and lower your immune system
  • It can be difficult to get all the required amounts because not all fruits and vegetables are created equal (Ex. Some may contain Vitamin C while others contain Vitamin E)
  • Taking supplements to make up for foods can be dangerous depending on the dosage because it can interfere with our body’s natural state
  • Free radicals are only eliminated on a one to one basis (For every serving of fruit or vegetable consumed, only a small amount of free radicals are eliminated)
  • Ingesting too much Vitamin A could cause DNA damage
  • Too much Vitamin E can form pro-oxidants and increase cellular damage

Based on the pros and cons shown above, it is evident that antioxidants are an important and useful tool in anti-aging when used properly. The problem is that many people don’t know exactly how many to consume as well as where to get them from. It can be hard to figure out whether or not you are taking too much of one food, causing it to hurt instead of help you. I myself struggled with trying to find the right foods to eat as well as the right proportions. Eventually, I gave up because it was too hard and I didn’t have the time to plan out what vitamins I was or wasn’t getting. Fortunately, fighting free radicals through supplements and food is not the only way! Many people are oblivious to just how easy it can be to fight free radicals naturally and reverse the effects of aging on the body. Perhaps the greatest discovery is that this all natural way, has no negative side effects that can be brought on by consuming too many antioxidants.
